kids are makers - cardboard creations with Anne Kable

  • Studion on Whiteley 39 Whiteley Street Dunedoo, NSW, 2844 Australia (map)

Create an art work, using materials that we would normally throw away, and enter it in the 2022 Waste 2 Art exhibition and competition.

This is a series of three workshops - 22 March - 29 March - 5 April

The workshops are suitable for both primary and secondary school students, as there are two separate competition entry categories.

Makers Space will deliver the finished art works to SPACE Gallery, Coonabarabran, prior to the exhibition.

Week One - 22 March

Waste 2 Art - challenge the way we think about waste and make art!

Dive into your recycle bin and find materials that you can reuse, recycle or repurpose. Bring your materials along to add to our collection.

We will start with a 15 minute Waste 2 Art information session for kids and parents, where we will give you all the details about how to enter, opening and closing dates and the exhibition.

Then you will dive straight in, gathering ideas, inspiration and materials for designing your cardboard creation.

To get you started, we will make a 'Flock of Bonkers Birds’, using cardboard, paint, recycled paper and sticks.

Weeks Two and Three - 29 March and 5 April

Design and make your own cardboard creation, or finish your Bonkers Birds.

We will provide . . .

creative inspiration

recycled cardboard, packaging, paper and other materials

scissors, paint and glue, and other tools you might need

You will need . . .

your imagination!

clean waste and recycled materials

a paint shirt or old clothes
